Brighton & Hove Rebrand
My first interpretation of ‘hot’ was scoville levels of heat.
I created the identity and packaging for my own hot sauce brand called ‘Hawt Sawce by Rise + Shine’. I wanted to create a fun but kind of intense and loud brand that distinctively has super spiciness at it’s core.
To support this branding, I created a short promotional video creating type using the sawce.
My second interpretation of ‘hot’ was heat of energy and movement.
I shot this short video at a jazz club to get the essence of a personal music experience where the performers were all fun and immersed into the collective sound they were making.
After shooting the footage I created contact sheets where each frame was individually scanned in, creating a kind of buzzy texture to the images.
This effect to me gives a warm, pure nostalgic look which brings focus to the heat of energy and movement I was looking for.
